ICRA Approach
At ICRA, we recognise farmers as experts, valuing their indigenous knowledge and lived experience as the foundation of organic biodiverse farming. Our approach centres on collaborating with farmers through the Prayog Parivar experimental group, a dynamic platform for shared learning, innovation, and experimentation.
ICRA embraces an inclusive approach, welcoming diverse alternative practices such as organic farming, agroecology, permaculture, quarter-acre farming, LEISA, biodynamic farming, and natural farming. We are committed to learning from and adapting to local farmers' unique needs, fostering a culture of openness, innovation, and context-specific solutions.
Farmers can achieve comparable or superior yields in key crops under rainfed conditions through biodiverse, sustainable organic farming practices, including select horticulture crops like tomatoes, green chillies, brinjal, okra, and banana.
