Rooted in Farmer Experiences
ICRA's publications are grounded in farmers' lived experiences, celebrating their intellectual journeys and pioneering spirit. Our primary focus is to amplify the voices of farmers who have dared to challenge conventional practices and forge alternative pathways. This is exemplified through biographies of visionary farmers such as Shri D.D. Bharamagoudara, Shri Narayana Reddy, Basvaraj Santheswar, Suresh Desai, Subhas Sharma, and others. These stories help us understand their transformative experiences, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to organic farming.
Our publications serve as both technical guides and sources of inspiration for a new generation of farmers. A milestone in our publication journey is the Permaculture book, which results from extensive training by Shri Ardhendu Chatterjee and has become a widely used handbook. Additionally, we have translated classic works like Albert Howard's An Agricultural Testament and contemporary publications, including Dabholkar's Plenty for All*, Bernard's Organic Farming and works by Sailendra Nath Ghosh. Our booklets and handbooks provide practical tools for farmers to thrive.
We also publish regular newsletters, bulletins, and magazines that share success stories, best practices, and lessons learned from field interventions. Furthermore, we publish research reports, policy briefs, and technical guides on organic and rainfed agriculture. In addition to written materials, we create educational resources such as posters, brochures, and videos for farmers and other stakeholders.
